Meet our pastor
Meet Pastor Jody Harrison.
As Sunset’s second pastor, Jody carries forward the ministry begun by founding pastor Ricky Freeman. His heart for people is at the center of the welcome we want you to experience here.
Whether you’re looking for a church home, have questions about faith, or simply want to introduce yourself, Pastor Jody would love to connect with you.

Three homes. Two pastors. One church family.
Our story began in 1986, when Ricky Freeman established Sunset Church of God.

01 / The beginning 1986
Ricky Freeman founded the church in this simple white building. With its modest surroundings and gravel parking area, this first home marks the beginning of the Sunset story.

02 / The next chapter
The congregation later moved to this brick building. Its familiar, weathered exterior remains part of the church’s history and the memories of those who worshiped there.

03 / Our home today
Today, Sunset gathers at 1709 Anaconda Road. Jody Harrison succeeded Ricky Freeman as the church’s second pastor, continuing a ministry of worship, fellowship, and prayer.
We honor founding pastor Ricky Freeman and Pastor Jody Harrison, and the church family that has shared in every chapter.
